CLIENT TRAINING – TOPIC: ADAPTING TO DROUGHT AND SALTWATER INTRUSION

Climate change and global warming are causing rising temperatures and increasing sea levels. Rainfall and temperature significantly alter the rate of groundwater recharge to aquifer systems, leading to saltwater intrusion. Saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta is becoming an increasingly urgent issue. This phenomenon causes problems of lack of freshwater for people’s daily life, irrigation and agricultural production, greatly affecting crop productivity. To enhance knowledge on saltwater intrusion, MOM has organized a training session for the clients on the topic “Adapting to Drought and Saltwater Intrusion”. The goal of this topic is to help clients understand the causes of drought and saltwater intrusion, their impacts and solutions to adapt to this phenomenon. In 2025, MOM plans to organize 35 training courses for clients on this topic.
